Devon 2021

Our first time in our new holiday home ....  Seeing you Ben out on the paddle board; even better when we went to the secret beach on the kayak was a real joy.  It was just brilliant and something I will always remember. Lemmy; I loved the paintings you did of the hills - the sheep and the clouds lifted my heart and I just love them. Brilliant Dan; I love digging holes and balancing stones with you - could not think of a better way to spend the day. Devon is for us a place to reconnect and be a family; its going to take some practise to get it right but we hope that we can practice this a lot; for we would not rather be anywhere else other than with you all P.S Sophie - it was lovely to have you there; 5's a crowd ;) - 6 is a family xxxx

Devon heaven

Each year we come and stay in Hope Cove, this year more than most it has been a welcome break.  Covid 19 is still very much at large, with social distancing and restrictions meaning it was touch and go if we could even make the journey. Thankfully restrictions have lifted and here we all are for 3 weeks.   Boys - we hope you will have fond memories of these holidays, time to play and pretty much do nothing giving a break from the busy time we all have the rest of the year.   Lemmy, your paddle boarding is ace. Dan, anti - zombie sandcastles are the best and Ben, well - we would let you just eat ice cream and sweets all day but that would just be bad parenting..... Sophie - always lovely to see you :)  and wish you could stay longer (P.s - happy birthday Lemmy)

Game of two halves

Ben, Alex and Daniel. A day of two halves today Fun in the park, taking you all for a scooter.  Despite young Alex losing your temper at tennis - I wonder if you will ever remember throwing the tennis ball at Bens head?   It was a great shot by the way..... At the park - sweets, tree climbing and a bit of scootering I’m glad I took you all to the park now - despite the earlier little loss of temper.... Until Getting into the car and some argument over doors, seats and young Alex and Daniel are causing all sorts.  Banging the car door - that’s the end of the day for everyone. Oh how I wish we could have a day of ‘normal’ :) All was not lost. All forgiven, big roast dinner and lollies to finish the day Love you all Dad

The ideas man

Love this Ben!
The Three A’s Alex Attridge Awesome
Attridge boys.  You do not know it now but you have lived through a really monumental world event with Covid-19. Through these bleak times, a future unknown you have shone.  It’s been an absolute pleasure to spend this extra time with you. We pray the future for your all is one that is positive, that you do not have to go through such trauma and drama.... Daniel - you bringing me this while I was working just made my day. Thank you.

The Artist

Alex - awesome! Being selected to exhibit your art at Chigwell is such an achievement. Mum and dad , very proud

Boom!

Alexander Attridge Kiss the guns. Well done you!

The joy that you bring

Benjamin Today you did a good thing, sharing your talent with others at the senior citizens Xmas lunch at your school.  The most I could have mustered at your age would have been some polite conversation - I know you excelled in that and then some.  That you then played solo; I am sure beautifully would have made all of the people there very very happy. You are brilliant. Mum and Dad
Everyday is a surprise with you all - we never know what little gem or piece of news will brighten our day.  This one, from you Daniel stopped me in my tracks - mum standing there with immense pride as you read this out to us in the kitchen. Add caption

It's been a while...

The awesome'ness' that are you all continues. Some highlights that mum and I feel absolutely blessed by Turkey holiday - how cool was that?? Dancing in the club to Ne-Yo Give me Everything Singing to PitBull's club can't handle me Dancing with mummy on the side lines - positive support as always (and a pretty good mover too!!) Water park - my legs hurt going up and down those stairs for the water slides. I had the best time ever! Sophie Loaf Manchester Uni.  You go girl :) I'm taking credit for that one - and the hours spent on your STEM subjects to get you through SNS.... You can thank me with a big kiss. This week has been particularly good, driving back from your first Poynter dinner this evening Ben I was smiling the whole way home.  I'm in awe of how you continue to step up and get on with it.  You should look back on this time safe in the knowledge that every day mum and I are so very very proud of you. Zander - you crack me up.  Searchin...

It’s the little things

Boys.... The sound of you all laughing when you are watching some of your TV shows is just the best.  Just because mum and I maybe in another room, hearing that noise brings absolute joy and a smile to our faces. Love it Love you Mum & Dad
The brilliance that is..... Benjamin School entry exams are seemingly more stressful for the parents who are not even taking the exams. Mum and I are again so proud of you getting a place - Im not sure words can explain. Go you Ben!
Christmas is always a time for reflection on the year past, time to spend time as a family and get reacquainted with each other as it seems life gets in the way the rest of the time.  Mum and I love Christmas, its not the presents or not having to goto work - its the time spent with you all.  Watching films, eating sweets and spending the day in PJ's is something that we treasure.  We hope you look back on these special times with the same fond memories, that by now you have worked out the Father Christmas is actually real and that whatever you are doing now in your lives that this time of year holds a special place in your life.  XxX Mum&Dad
